Fortune Cookies

I love this recipe, in game and out. I love to pass around fortune cookies when grouped up with guildies. First thing, I went to wowhead.com and copied some of the fortunes that you find in the Warcraft fortune cookies & cut them into stripes.

Fortune Cookie Recipe
1/2 cup (120 g) butter
1 cup ( 100 g ) sugar
mix until fluffy
1 tbs (15 ml) vanilla

4 egg whites

In a second bowl, separate the eggs whites. Whisk them until they are white and frothy. Don't over think it, I know egg whites can be intimidating.

Mix the two together until blended. Add 1 cup (240 ml) of flour. Mix well.

Place one tablespoon on a greased cookie sheet. I used a silicone baking sheet, if you do not have one just grease the center of the sheet or use parchment paper.

 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)  for 8 - 10 minutes. Until edges are browned.
Like the photo below.

Place the fortune inside and fold over.

Then fold the cookie over the rim of a bowl.  Working quickly, the cookie is very hot. Please be careful.

Let stand on the edge of the bowl until completely cool.

These cookies are very hot, please please be careful when handling them. When cooled they should be firm and crispy. And as you can see from the display below of various sizes and colors. I'm an equal opportunity muncher:)

  1. I remember trying to make these when I was about 13 years old. In other words, a million years ago. They didn't work out for me, though. This makes me want to try it again! My girls would love to do this!

I'm following you. Thanks for all the recipes! Feel free to follow me too and maybe you can give me some pointers I may be missing on geocaching! ;)

  2. I think the trick is not to panic.
You do have to work rather quickly to get the cookies folded before they cool. But if you mess up the first 2 or 3 while you are trying to find the right balance between burnt fingers and a folded cookie and they aren't folded righ.t Are your kids not going to eat them anyway? I didn't think so. LoL!
